The film as a whole starts promising, with Lisbeth Salander, played by Claire Foy, as the main protagonist. We see a brief insight of her backstory which begins to develop but is cut short in favour of the current story which left me disappointed. A story like this that’s full of twists and turns only really works well when you’re not expecting it and carries some form of emotional attachment that is created through the past events. Unfortunately they were obvious from the start which was disappointing as the film had a really good plot that should have been explored further.
The motives of the antagonists were very stereotypical and follow the typical bad guy script. Although the scenes between the two protagonists offered a interesting dynamic which reminded me of a Jack Reacher type vibe.
Some of the camera work on the action pieces where a little over the top as you couldn’t really see what was going on, but the costume designs that accompanied the scene were unique which was refreshing to see.
Overall I’d give it a 7/10 but wouldn’t personally watch it again.
